My personal counseling approach is that often our overwhelming feelings are the result of life events; many of which are rooted in childhood. Key traumatic events, or an accumulation of subtle negative experiences can lead to the development of thoughts and behaviors that create obstacles to our own peace and happiness. If we can identify the source of these feelings, we can use cognitive behavioral techniques to shift towards more productive thoughts and behaviors. One of the goals of the therapeutic process is to provide you with tools to maintain this peace and happiness in the future.

Most of my graduate research involved hypnosis as a complement to the therapeutic process. The subconscious mind can be a powerful tool in treatment. To learn more about hypnotherapy, click on "my blog" link on the menu.

I'm happy to be part of the team at South Tampa Therapy, under the supervision of Elizabeth Mahaney, LMCH, LMFT. I have over 10 years experience conducting hypnosis and guided meditation sessions.
